The laundry list you “dont” need to bring to your bridal appointment

I’m a millennial—and yes, a TikTok-obsessed one at that. I often come across bridal stores (no shade, I promise) creating content advising future brides to bring a list of items to their bridal appointments. And honestly, I’ve always wondered why.

Having worked at two bridal stores during my time as a consultant, I’ve seen countless brides show up with tote bags filled with all the things they were told they "needed" to bring—because they “saw” or “read” somewhere that they should. In most cases, the only thing I ever pulled out of that bag was the shoes (and only if they were *the* shoes). But more often than not, that bag stayed untouched throughout the appointment. Brides were pleasantly surprised when I reassured them that we already had everything they needed: undergarments (like waist trainers or bra cups), shoes for trying on, hair ties, clips, bobby pins, and even jewelry.

So why are some bridal stores stressing brides out, insisting they bring all this stuff for their appointment?

Honestly, I have no idea.

So here’s the truth: If a bridal store tells you to bring a long list of items to your appointment, just remember that there are plenty of stores that don’t require any of that because they’ve taken the initiative to provide it for you. ESPECIALLY if they charge an appointment fee.

If they wanted to they would?

Happy Shopping Brides!
